Hoopsnake
Classic snake, come full circle: close your body into a loop and catch everything inside at once.
ABOUT
Hoopsnake keeps everything people love about snake and adds one idea from the old folk tale of the hoop snake, which bites its own tail and rolls away like a wheel: close your body into a loop and everything inside is caught at once.
Steer, eat and grow, and set up loops that catch several apples or beetles for a multiplier. Keep eating quickly to raise a streak. Avoid the walls and yourself.
The 30-level Journey follows Little Hoop through The Orchard, The Dry Wash, The Tidal Flats, The Deep Woods and The Fairgrounds, then Grandma Coil's Trials as a postgame chapter.
Twelve modes — Classic, Hoop, Wraparound, Mason, Warp rings, Tide, Lantern, Roundup, Rivals, Sprint, Zen and Custom — plus a Daily challenge and two-player Versus and Co-op on one device or against the computer.
47 trophies unlock snakes, boards and foods, and sync to your TrySomeGames account when you are signed in. Version 1.0.0.3 is in English and works with keyboard, swipes, an on-screen pad and gamepads.

REVIEWS & RATINGS

VERDICT: A clever twist on snake that makes the classic feel fresh without losing its simplicity.
The loop mechanic changes everything. Instead of chasing apples one by one, you start planning circles around groups of them, which adds a satisfying layer of strategy to a game everyone already knows.
The Journey uses the idea well, with levels built around keys, beetles, tides and lanterns. Twelve modes and the daily challenge give plenty of variety once the story is done.
Controls are tight on keyboard, touch and gamepad, and local Versus and Co-op make it a great game to share.
