PRIVACY & COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 18 August 2026

TrySomeGames is an independent game project from Sweden. The site uses necessary storage for sign-in and security, browser storage for settings you choose, and — with your consent where required — Google AdSense ads. This policy explains what personal data we process on trysomegames.se and trysomegames.com, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and your rights under the GDPR (EU 2016/679) and the Swedish Data Protection Act (2018:218).

What data we collect

  • Account data — e-mail address, display name, avatar and banner images, language and settings, date of birth (used only for the 13+ age check and personalised-ads restriction).
  • Game data — sessions, scores, achievements, reviews, bug reports and game ideas you submit.
  • Payment data — membership and donation transactions handled by Stripe: amount, currency, country, payment status and Stripe identifiers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, language, timestamps, security and error logs.

Cookies we use

Necessary storage is always active — it keeps you signed in, protects checkout and lets the consent tool remember your choice. The consent tool itself (from Google) is loaded on every page so you can make a choice; the ad script and advertising cookies only follow after consent where consent is required. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

International transfers

Our servers are located inside the EU. Some providers (Google, Stripe) may process data outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) together with supplementary technical measures, and where applicable on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep data

  • Account and game data — until you delete your account. Accounts inactive for 2 years are deleted automatically after a warning e-mail.
  • Payment and accounting data — 7 years, as required by the Swedish Accounting Act (1999:1078).
  • Server, security and audit logs — 90 days.
  • Ad data — retention is decided by Google (ad cookies up to 13 months). We do not receive or store it.

Your rights

  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — delete your account and data.
  • Restriction — limit processing while a matter is being reviewed.

Use the data rights page or write to contact@trysomegames.com. We reply within 30 days. You may also complain to IMY (imy.se).

Children under 13

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Users aged 13–16 in the EU/EEA need parental consent, and personalised ads are switched off for them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact contact@trysomegames.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services or the law change. Material changes are announced on the site and signed-in users are asked to accept the new version. The date at the top always shows the current version.
