Ages of Battle guide
Destroy the Emberjaw base by balancing units, turrets, special abilities and evolution across eleven ages.
STEP BY STEP
- Choose a mode, difficulty and starting conditions.
- Train units to push the battle line and earn gold from defeated enemies.
- Build turrets to protect your base, then save enough gold to evolve.
- Adapt your roster as both factions unlock later ages and stronger counters.
- Destroy the enemy base before Bluefern falls.
CONTROLS
- Mouse or touch: choose units, turrets, abilities and menu actions.
- Keyboard shortcuts shown in the interface activate common battle actions.
- Drag or use edge scrolling to move the camera when manual camera mode is enabled.
DIFFICULTY
Configurable. Skirmish offers several difficulties and starting conditions; Chronicle introduces systems chapter by chapter, while Nightmare and Last Stand are the hardest tests.
STRATEGY
- Do not spend every coin immediately; evolution can be stronger than one more early unit.
- Mix front-line, ranged and support units instead of relying on one type.
- Place turrets to buy time when the battle line moves toward your base.
AVOID THESE MISTAKES
- Evolving while the enemy is already at your base.
- Training expensive units without cheaper troops to protect them.
- Using a special ability before enough targets enter its area.
