POLITICAL STRATEGY

Handover

Lead a party in a young republic: win elections, build coalitions and pass laws — knowing every power you keep is inherited by whoever governs next.

ABOUT

Handover (version 1.0.0.12) is a turn-based political strategy game. You lead a party in a fictional republic over 8 to 16 years, fighting elections, building coalitions, passing laws and sometimes rewriting the Charter itself.

The hook is the handover: every power the Charter gives the government is yours while you govern, and every power you keep or add is inherited by whoever governs after you. When the office of Prime Minister changes hands, a ceremony lists every power the new government inherits and every check still standing.

Each year has a Spring and an Autumn session. Bills travel through the Gauntlet — the Assembly, the Senate, referendums, the Supreme Court, the free press, strikes and citizens’ initiatives — each only if the Charter still provides for it. Investiture works as in Sweden: a candidate is approved unless 76 of the 150 members vote against.

Around that sit a budget, ministers, trade unions, a central bank, regional elections, party factions and a Story mode, The Long Handover, with five chapters and stars. One player can play against AI leaders of different temperaments, or two to four players can share one device.

There are 57 achievements. Saves are kept in your browser, and achievements unlocked while signed in are saved to your TrySomeGames account. The game is in English.
